Frozen Fever (2015)

Frozen Fever - 2015
Coming up next is 2015's short film "Frozen Fever", the continuing adventures of Anna, Elsa, and the gang in a teaser meant to tide fans over until the 2019 release of Frozen 2.  (In actuality, there would be one more Frozen short film).

The film's voice cast includes Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, Josh Gad, and Santino Fontana.

It's Anna's birthday, and Elsa wants everything to be perfect.  One of the things she stresses about is the topper for the birthday cake.

Kristoff and Sven are on hand to help with the palace courtyard decorations.

And even Olaf is there causing mischief.  "What are you doing?" asks Elsa.  Startled, Olaf replies, "I'm not eating cake."  He gets excited because it's an ice cream cake.

At the right time, Elsa goes to wake up Anna and wish her a Happy Birthday.

Unfortunately for Elsa, she's not feeling very well.  It seems she's catching a cold.  And every time she sneezes, mini snowmen pop up.

"Elsa, I'm thinkin' you might have a cold," says a concerned Anna.  "I don't get colds," says Elsa.  "And besides, a cold never bothered me anyway."

The little snowmen make their way outside and Olaf is delighted.  He squeals, "Little brothers!"

Elsa takes Anna around the castle, showering her with gifts.  And all the while, she's beset by that pesky cold.

The mini snowmen just seem to keep on multiplying, unbeknownst to Elsa.

While she's getting a new sweater for Anna, Oaken tries to push some homemade cold remedy on Elsa.  She declines, but Anna accepts it for her.
(Don't you just love the name of his shop?  "Oaken's Cloakens....and Sauna.")

The snowmen invaders get up to all sorts of mischief.  Poor Kristoff has a hard time keeping them corralled.  When they ruin the birthday sign, Olaf volunteers to fix it.

Anna finally puts her foot down and takes Elsa home after she nearly collapses from illness.

But before she can get to bed, the birthday party is in full swing.  Elsa is finally confronted with all of the little snowmen that she's created.

The birthday celebrations commence at the palace in a big way.  A little children's choir sings, and snowmen are everywhere!  Kristoff is able to present Anna with the cake he's saved from them.

Elsa says that all that is left to do is for the queen to blow the birthday bugle horn.  She summons a huge breath and gives it a good blow.

She sneezes as she blows the horn and a huge snowball is formed.  It heads straight for the Southern Isles.

Prince Hans is working in the royal stables as punishment for his evil treatment of Elsa and Anna in the previous full-length film.

That snowball falls right on him and pushes him into a huge pile of horse manure.  The horses crack up.

Elsa is finally bundled off to bed.  Anna says that the best birthday present is getting to take care of her.

Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf round up all of the mini snowmen and take them to Elsa's ice palace in the forest.  They are now under the care of a huge abominable snowman.  Olaf leads them in.  "This way Sludge, and Slush, and Slide, and Flake, and Fridge, and Flurry, and Powder, and Crystal, and Squalor, and Pat, and Sphere, and William..."

Cast rundown:

   Kristen Bell........................................Princess Anna

   Idina Menzel......................................Queen Elsa

   Jonathan Groff...................................Kristoff

   Josh Gad...........................................Olaf

   Santino Fontana.................................Prince Hans

And that's all for Frozen Fever.  It was released alongside Disney's live-action "Cinderella".  On the map of Arendelle and the Southern Isles, the Roman numerals "MDCCCXL" are shown, making the year 1840.

It seems to take a while for Olaf to fix the Happy Birthday sign in the film.  During one part, the letters spell out "Hairy Ant Band".

The song during the short film is titled "Making Today A Perfect Day", and it's quite catchy.
