Godzilla (2014)

Godzilla - 2014

Coming up next is 2014's "Godzilla", a film about the legendary monster that becomes a hero to mankind after saving the Earth from destructive other-worldly forces.

The film's cast includes Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, Sally Hawkins, David Strathairn, Bryan Cranston, Richard T. Jones, Carson Bolde, and Eric Keenleyside.

In Japan, a massive radioactive anomaly occurs devastating the area and ruining countless lives.  The cause?  Something has caused a nuclear reactor to collapse.

Fifteen years later, a father and son have lost everything in the aftermath (including their wife and mother) return to the "quarantine zone" to find answers.

What the discover is something that neither of them imagined in their wildest dreams.  Something appears to be feeding off of radiation, causing electromagnetic pulses or EMPs.

The thing that emerges from this "shell" is truly horrific.  It's gigantic and causes a great deal of havoc.  The father, Joe Brody, is killed.

The US Navy, headed by Admiral William Stenz, is on high alert off the coast of Japan.  They are ready to track down and destroy this MUTO (massive unidentified terrestrial organism).

Working with the Navy is Dr. Ishiro Serizawa, from an organization called Monarch, which studies large creatures such as the MUTO.  He and his associate, Dr. Vivienne Graham, believe that only one thing can kill the MUTO, a massive creature called Gojira, or Godzilla.

They enlist the help of Lt. Ford Brody, Joe Brody's son, to see if he knows anything about some of the research his father was working on.  Joe was convinced that the nuclear reactor accident was a coverup.  It turns out he was right.  He was researching echolocation at the time of his death.

Naturally, Godzilla senses a threat and hurries towards the MUTO in order to deal with it.

The two huge creatures make contact in Hawaii.  It's a fierce battle, but the MUTO is able to fly away towards the US mainland.

At home in San Francisco, Ford Brody's wife and son watch in disbelief at the horrors unleashed in Hawaii.

There's no time to sit idly by.  Godzilla and the MUTO are on track to make landfall in San Francisco.  The US Navy provides Godzilla with an armed escort.

The nightmare continues.  In Las Vegas, a second MUTO is awakened.  This one is a female and is headed straight to San Francisco to join up with its male counterpart.

The two MUTOs meet up in San Francisco and feed on anything nuclear they can get their fangs into.

Having made his own way to San Francisco, Ford discovers that the MUTOs have bred and created a nest in Chinatown.  Now, he must find a way to destroy it.

Godzilla and the MUTOs engage in a fierce battle, with Godzilla emerging as the victor.

The battle takes its toll on Godzilla, who collapses afterwards in exhaustion.  Dr. Serizawa and Dr. Graham get an up close view at the legendary monster.

After destroying the MUTO nest and also saving San Francisco from a massive nuclear explosion, Ford is reunited with his family.  They collapse into each other's arms.

After a brief rest, Godzilla revives and lets out a mighty roar as he swims into San Francisco Bay towards the open ocean.  The city of San Francisco cheers and hails him as the savior of their city.

Enjoy these pics of this awesome coyote from the film.  It's ears are perked up because it can hear the sounds of the approaching US military.
