The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course (2002)

The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course - 2002

Next we head to the land Down Under for 2002's "The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course", a film that sees wildlife conservation legend Steve Irwin relocate a problem croc and trying to educate the public about some of Australia's more unlovable creatures.  The U.S. government is on their tail.  The croc has something that the Americans want.

The film's cast includes Steve Irwin, Terri Irwin, Magda Szubanski, David Wenham, Lachy Hulme, Aden Young, and Kate Beahan.

In outer space, a satellite owned by the United States blows up and is completely destroyed, except for one very important part: a beacon.

That beacon makes its way back to Earth where it lands in Australia, where it is promptly swallowed by a very aggressive saltwater crocodile.

Crocodile hunter Steve Irwin and his wife Terri are out filming a documentary about some of Australia's less lovable wildlife.  Goannas, snakes, and spiders make for some pretty interesting discovery.  There's also an adorable orphaned baby kangaroo that they take care of.

Steve and Terri get a call that a problem crocodile has been bothering a cattle farmer and it needs to be relocated.  Steve does what he does best and is on the hunt for this dangerous reptile.  Naturally, they are successful.

It's a good thing that Steve and Terri relocated when they did.  The trigger happy cattle rancher isn't afraid of using her gun to take care of the croc herself.  And she isn't above ignoring regulations from the Department of Fauna and Fisheries.

And the Americans have a team on the ground in Australia to locate the lost beacon, which could mean a shifting in the axis of world power depending on who owns it.  As they follow the beacon's signal, Steve comes to think that the agents are poachers, and he's goes to great lengths to outwit them.

It turns out that this crocodile is the one that swallows the beacon.  The beacon is regurgitated and Steve thinks it's a child's top, which makes him angry.  People should not be throwing waste such as that in wildlife territory.

At the film's close, Steve and Terri educate the viewers on why it is important to conserve wildlife and make sure their habitats are clean and protected.

Just before the credits roll, the US military zeroes in on Steve, who is holding the beacon.  Crikey!
