Hawaiian Vacation (2011)

Hawaiian Vacation - 2011
Coming up next is 2011's "Hawaiian Vacation", a Toy Story-themed short film that sees the gang throwing a Hawaiian vacation for Ken and Barbie.

The film's voice cast includes Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Don Rickles, Michael Keaton, Jodi Benson, Wallace Shawn, John Ratzenberger, Estelle Harris, Timothy Dalton, Jeff Garlin, Bonnie Hunt, Blake Clark, and Kristen Schaal.

Bonnie's bedroom is a flurry of activity.  Bonnie is headed with her family for a vacation in Hawaii.  She quickly grabs her bag and bids farewell to all of her toys.

The next thing you know, out pop Ken and Barbie from one of Bonnie's backpacks.  Thinking they've stowed away and are now in Hawaii, Ken hands Barbie her luggage (more on that later).

Ken is in for the surprise of his life when he finds out that he and Barbie are actually still in Bonnie's room.

Barbie explains that Ken had all kinds of plans for when they got to Hawaii.

It was even going to be the place where they shared their first kiss.  Woody and the gang decide to help them out.

They get everything set up like Hawaii.  Barbie and Ken even get a photo opportunity on "arrival".

They also check into their "resort".  Remember Barbie's small pink suitcase?  The rest of this luggage belongs to Ken.

Their first activity is deep-sea diving.  Barbie and Ken ooh and aah at the fish they see.

Hamm, however, is in charge of the clicker.  "Watch this," he whispers to Buttercup as he clicks the remote.

An image of a shark comes on the TV, and Barbie and Ken scream in terror.  "Shark Week," smiles Hamm.

Next, Mrs. Potato Head gives them a tour of the local bird and plant life.

Of course, there's always a little time for some sun bathing.

And what's a trip to Hawaii without sneaking in a little fishing?

One of the activities that Ken wants to do is horseback riding.  Bullseye is only too happy to accommodate them.

They even get a little surfing in.  Ken, a bit overenthusiastic, has a little accident when he tries to "hang 10".

There's even a formal dress dinner.  No luau is complete without that roast suckling pig.  "I shoulda saw this coming," frowns Hamm.

There's even a floor show, complete with hula dancers and a Spanish-speaking Buzz Lightyear with a glowstick.

Woody tells Barbie that everything's almost ready for that special first kiss.  The toys construct a special beach for the occasion.  Buzz says in Spanish, "We removed the poop from the kitty litter."  "Spanish is such a romantic language," swoons Mrs. Potato Head.

With a wave of her hand, Barbie tells Woody, "I've got this".  Barbie and Ken disappear, and all the toys are at the window to see where they went.

Barbie and Ken finally get their first kiss, though more wintry than first imagined.  Ken finds the moment so romantic his leg "pops".

It's a good thing they kissed when they did, because soon Barbie and Ken fall right through the deep snow as everyone looks on.
